horses & flowers

Sorry it's been so long! Here's a watercolor I did a while ago...

And once again, I'll resolve to keep the blog updated more frequently.

Not that it will happen...but we can always hope.

;)

cheetah

I've enjoyed some painting over spring break, and I came up with this cheetah:

It's a little different from what I normally paint, since I  actually covered the entire page! :)

~

Sorry the photo quality isn't the greatest...on the camera the pic looked fine, but on the computer I can see it's a bit blurry, and the color isn't as vivid as I would like. :/

peregrine falcon

I broke out the watercolors again a couple days ago, and came up with this:

(I'm not sure what's wrong with the picture... the coloring is all weird when I post it to Blogger...)

kitten

Poor blog... it's been neglected.

Maybe I'll have more time to post during Christmas break...

Here's a kitten I sketched and painted recently.

  :)

Merry Christmas!

painting, painting...

We had a half day of school yesterday, so I used my extra time to paint!
:)

Here's one of the things I did:

I have a few more pictures, which I will post SOON!
:P

p.s. Has anyone else read Lorna Doone?
I'm reading it right now, and enjoying it SO much!

& more pen drawings...

So I'm finally back with that cat I told you about.

:)

I like it.

It turned out pretty well.

Especially the paws.

Sadly, the scanner cut them off a little.

On the whole, my best cat yet, however!

-

Then I tackled a dog.

Turned out looking a little too much like a...
 teddy bear?

But still cute.
-
And lastly, a forest/river scene.
This was done on an "Artist Trading Card" sized piece of paper, so it's pretty tiny.

I have a couple watercolors to post about too,

so hopefully I won't be absent for too long.

pen drawings

We have libraries again!

So I took advantage of ours, and got out:

Painting Your Favorite Animals in Pen, Ink and Watercolor

Pretty neat book.

I took a fancy to the pen drawings, and decided to copy some of them.

Here are my results:

A rabbit...

And a bird!

I drew them both with a Sakura Micron pen (0.30 line width).

I enjoyed drawing them so much, that now I'm working on a cat!

I've tried many times to capture a cat's personality, and have never succeeded, so we will see how this one turns out...

and more paintings...

Just a few watercolors from recently.

A tiger..

Not quite realistic, but cute, all the same.

-

A duck swimming...

I liked the idea for the water, but I'll need to work on it a bit more before it looks quite right.

 -

And my personal favorite,

 a duckling in a cup!

(seeing a theme?)

I'll try to post again soon!

:)

watercolor animals

Another batch of watercolor paintings!
I was inspired by some paintings I saw on Etsy by Dimdi.

Anyway...
I painted a bunch of animals...
 here are some of them!

A dolphin...

a chick...

a turtle...

 a hedgehog...

and a hummingbird!

I think so far, the turtle is my favorite!

I've been painting some more too, so I'll post a few others soon.

felt animals

Christmas break is so nice.
Lots of free time for reading, writing, and making things.

:)

I made some cute little felt and fleece animals for winter decorations.

A penguin...

a bluebird...

and a fox!

(my favorite)

Elise made a sweet little owl.

They were fun to create!

We carried armloads of felt and fleece scraps up to our room, along with sewing needles and thread, and listened to most of the Narnia books on my Mp3.

Our room was a mess of fabric scraps and thread afterward.

:P

Also during Christmas break, I've been revising my novel and trying to work out the last chapter.

If anyone would like to critique some of my novel, I would really appreciate it!

You can leave me a comment and I will email you the second draft of  however many chapters you want to critique.

Next post will be about...
Basket weaving!
:)
